Assocham meet in New Delhi to celebrate World Entrepreneurs’ Day
This World Entrepreneur’s Day on August 21, The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) will celebrate Indians who have started a business alone.
In line with the purpose of World Entrepreneurs’ Day to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership throughout the world, ASSOCHAM will conduct a conference-cum-award ceremony.
It will throw light on the various programs, schemes, and incentives by the relevant ministries at the Centre and the State for developing startups and entrepreneurship in the country.
Key government figures such as Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Anant Kumar Hegde and Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, (MSMEs) Arun Kumar Panda, will address the conference.
Around 300 leading entrepreneurs from India and abroad are expected to attend. Located at the Hotel Leela Palace, New Delhi, the program will run from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry
World Entrepreneurs’ Day is being observed in Goa as well. With the aim to boost the MSME sector in the state, the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) will conduct a half-day MSME event in association with the Department of Industries, Goa State Industries Association and Goa Technology Association.
Happening at Institute Menezes Braganza, the event seeks to “highlight Goa as the ‘next Entrepreneurial Destination’ and create awareness of opportunities available for economic development of the state,” Manguirish Pai Raiker, Chairman, ASSOCHAM MSME Council, said.
According to Raiker, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), State Bank of India (SBI), and 20 other banks and financial institutions such as MSME-Development Institute, SIDBI, EDC, NABARD Ltd will be major facilitators for the event.
“This event will also help in producing actual figures of employment generated through the massive boost to Goan MSME sector,” Raiker said, adding, “major banks from the state will also be sanctioning loans, educating the prospective entrepreneurs on various financial schemes available.”
Raiker expects 150-200 prospective entrepreneurs to avail of this. Various banks, MSME-DI, Department Of Industries, Goa Government, EDC Ltd, will also display their relevant schemes and interact with prospective entrepreneurs through specially designated stalls.
