Cotecna acquires analytical testing firm Shiva Analyticals
Cotecna Inspection, a provider of testing, inspection and certification services globally, said it has officially acquired Shiva Analyticals Private Limited, one of India’s leading analytical testing laboratories. The deal value has not been disclosed.
Founded in 1997, Shiva Analyticals provides a range of solutions across numerous sectors including food and beverages, mineral ores, fuel oils, pharmaceuticals and industrial hygiene.
The company’s developmental facilities are located in Bengaluru in India and its expert team works with companies across India and abroad.
Sébastien Dannaud, CEO, Cotecna Inspection, said he was delighted to welcome the Shiva team and the acquisition represented a strategic milestone as it continued to increase its outreach across the sectors in which they already have a strong expertise.
Cotecna tied up with Merican Consultants as financial advisors and AZB & Partners as legal advisors to complete the acquisition. The takeover supports the company’s ambitious growth strategy, which was announced earlier this year.
Dr G Sudesh Kumar, CEO, Shiva Analyticals, expressed his gratitude and said they were proud to be part of the Cotecna Group. He further said, “This acquisition will open our business to new opportunities as we aim to remain ahead of the game in the analytical testing industry.”
Dr Sudhir Gupta, VP, Area Manager for South and South East Asia, Cotecna Inspection, said that because of the acquisition, Cotecna has now become a full-service provider of inspection, testing and certification services in India.
“Our aim is to use the platform to build a robust presence in the food, mineral and metals sectors in India, along with making full use of the analytical competencies of Shiva Analyticals,” he added.
