Founded in 2010 by Girish Mathrubootham and Shanmugam Krishnasamy, Freshworks is a global cloud-based software company that provides customer engagement to businesses of all sizes.

Headquartered in San Mateo, California, United States of America, the company is a Software-as-a-service (SaaS) startup. It utilises Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning that also makes it user-friendly and easy-to-access.

The various products offered by the company include Freshdesk for customer support, Freshservice for IT service, Freshsales for sales CMR, Freshcaller as as cloud-based call centre, Freshteam for HR management, Freshchat customer messaging, Freshmarketer for marketing automation and Freshrelease project management.

It has also received various awards and was listed on the Forbes Cloud 100 at number 40 between 2017 and 2019.

In September 2021, the company was the first Indian SaaS that was listed on Nasdaq. With its constant growth, it also reached more than $400 million revenue in 2022.

The major investors in the company are Accel, Google, CapitalG, Tiger Global Management and Sequoia Capital India.

In March 2023, the co-founder, Shanmugam Krishnasamy exited the company. And at present, the top two executives, CHRO Suman Gopalan and CMO Stacey Epstein are set to leave the company and it is on the lookout for strong replacements.
