In an interview with YS Weekender, actress Kate Mulvany aka Sister Harriet from Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Hunters’ answers some fun questions about the web series and her fashion favourites
After winning over the audience as Jimmy Hoffa, the powerful Teamster in The Irishman, Al Pacino is back on the streaming space. This time around, the actor plays Meyer Offerman in Amazon Prime Video's new drama Hunters. He stars as a Nazi hunter, living in 1977 New York, tracking down high-ranking Nazi officials who are conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the US.
The show, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, features an absolutely star-studded cast including Jerrika Hinton, Josh Radnor, Logan Lerman, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa, Carol Kane, Saul Rubinek, Dylan Baker, Lena Olin, and Australian actress Kate Mulvany.
Known for her roles in 2013’s The Great Gatsby and 2010’s Griff the Invisible, Kate has worked extensively with the Australian theatre, and she has even won the Helpmann Award for Best Female Actor in a Play for her role in Richard III. In Amazon Prime’s Hunters, the actress is seen as Sister Harriet, an MI6 agent who has turned into a Nazi hunter and is now a part of the group helmed by Offermen (Al Pacino).
As a Nazi-hunting nun, Sister Harriet aka Kate Mulvany is fierce, unapologetic, and not the one to mince her words. In an exclusive interview with YS Weekender, the actress answers 13 rapid-fire questions:
Edited excerpts from the interview:
YS Weekender: What is your favourite 70s inspired outfit?
Kate Mulvany: There’s this hot little back jumpsuit that I wear. It’s a little bit too tight on me and I have managed to split the pants four times now. But that’s my favourite. Keep an eye out for it.
YSW: Which favourite prop on set you want to take home with you?
KM: My favourite prop is Sister Harriet’s charm bracelet. It’s got a couple of saints on it that protect her, but it’s also got the motifs of really cool skull and crossbones. And I can’t be Harriet without the charm bracelet.
YSW: What do the hunters stand for in three words?
KM: Vengeance, atonement, and fun.
YSW: Describe the show with one emoji.
KM: Oh, well, okay, one emoji, I don’t know if this emoji exists but I’d like a smiley face with a skull and crossbones across it.
YSW: Soda pop or green juice?
KM: Oh, soda pop.
YSW: Roller skates or electric scooter?
KM: Roller skates.
YSW: Vintage cars or electric cars?
KM: Vintage always.
YSW: Waterbed or memory foam?
KM: I think Sister Harriet likes a waterbed.
YSW: Comic books or 3D movies?
KM: Comic books.
YSW: Vinyl or streaming?
KM: Vinyl all the way.
YSW: Film camera versus phone camera?
KM: Film camera.
YSW: Disco ball or strobe lights?
KM: Oh, disco ball.
YSW: Bell bottoms or skinny jeans?
KM: Skinny jeans. I have to leap into the future at some point, skinny jeans.
