Grooming plays an important part in building your confidence, and it should be an important part of your beauty routine even when you are staying at home. Looking well-groomed may look impossible as salon visits are restricted now and we have limited access to freelance beauticians, but we can learn to manage without the help of professionals.

Today, I am going to share some tips with you on how to look well-groomed all day even at home. These procedures are easy to follow and take very little time too.

The nourishing goodness of oil

Your hair is your crowning beauty and you should take extra care of it every day. I recommend shampooing your hair twice or thrice a week, depending on how oily your scalp gets. Apply warm oil to your hair twice a week as regular oiling with warm oil is an excellent way to maintain your tresses.

Since we are all at home now, you should try to make a hair mask with some simple ingredients. I would suggest a hair mask made out of half a mashed banana, 2 tablespoons of conditioner, a squeeze of lemon, a teaspoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of yoghurt.

You can also learn how to blow dry your hair and try out some new hairstyles during your time at home.

Make a face pack

With summer at its peak, it is really important to moisturise your skin regularly. Remember to use a pack once a week using papaya and watermelon. A pack is like a vitamin boost for your skin as it nourishes the face and gives it a special glow.

A face pack can be made at home with a few key ingredients

Exfoliate your skin twice a week by using rice powder, yoghurt, a pinch of salt and a bit of lemon. Mix all these ingredients together to make an exfoliator. Don’t forget to cleanse, tone, and moisturise your face twice a day – once in the morning and once more before going to bed. This is a must to have a great skin for a long time.

Smooth solutions

The biggest challenge that most women face is the problem of facial hair as we cannot go for our threading sessions at our salons. Only a professional can take handle threading but you can keep your eyebrows in shape and remove other unwanted hair with a pair of tweezers.

Stretch your eyebrows from above and pull out the extra hair around your eyebrow line. Do not use a thread as you are not an expert and an incorrect move might lead to cuts and nicks. For the lips, use a wax strip and cut it into small strips. Place one small strip on one side, stretch your lip from the other side and pull it in the opposite direction. I would not suggest that you use wax regularly. Just do it just once or twice until you are able to visit the salon.

As for the hair on your arms or legs, you can opt for either waxing or using an epilator or a razor.

Take care of your hands and feet

Take special care of your hands as you may be doing a lot of chores around the house

We all are doing lot of household chores which can make our hands rough and the heels of the feet may develop cracks too. To look well-groomed, you need to take special care of your hands and feet.

After taking your shower, push back the cuticles of your nails with your towel. Always keep your nails cut to a medium length, file them, and wear a nail polish. This keeps your nails from getting brittle and they will not break easily.

For your feet, while taking a shower, scrub your heels with a pumice stone and after towel drying them, apply a good moisturiser. Also, remember to give yourself a hand and foot massage before going to bed at night.

Wear a bit of makeup

We all are at home and do not feel like wearing makeup, but I suggest that every now and then, wear a bright lipstick as it brightens your face and peps up your mood as well.

You can also use this time to learn how to do makeup. Try different eye shadows and different ways to apply eyeliner and learn the right way to contour your face.

So, all it needs is a few ingredients and techniques to appear well-groomed all the time and look your best, even during these times when we need to stay at home due to the pandemic. A little bit of self-care will be well worth your time and effort.
