Sula Vineyards launches India’s first canned wine ‘Dia Sparkler’
Sula’s Dia Sparkler will be available in both red and white wine flavours, and comes in 330 ml cans
, one of India’s most popular wine brands, has launched ‘Dia Sparkler’, a new canned wine, in leading retail stores across India.
Nashik-based Sula, which holds 60 percent of the market share in India, has launched Dia Sparkler in both red and white wine flavours in 330 ml cans, which is priced at Rs 180.
The wine is quite low in alcohol percentage compared to other alcoholic drinks with a total alcohol by volume (ABV) of 8 percent, which is in line with strong beer.

According to a study by Nielsen, the canned wine category in India grew by 67 percent in May 2019, and is currently clocking in $75 million in sales.
While canned wine is widely available in other countries, this is the first-time wine has been made available in cans in India. Canned wine leads to less wastage, and controlled amounts of drinking and convenience.
Further, canned wine is much easier to carry around, and seems to be perfect for weekend getaways, travel, and picnics.

Founded in late 1990s, Sula currently operates two wineries at Nashik and Dindori in Maharashtra, and has taken over three custom crush facilities in Nashik and Karnataka.
Rajeev Samant, Founder and CEO, Sula Vineyards, told INDIANtelevision in an interview:
“At Sula, we are always on the lookout to bring new experiences to our customers. We are thrilled to bring the iconic Dia in a brand new avatar. It is India’s first wine sparkler in a can. Not just convenience, this drink promises all things light, bubbly, and refreshing.”
The Dia Sparkler is currently being launched only in Maharashtra, and will soon be made available across India.
