Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad - 4th PGPX programme inaugurated
Ahmedabad, April 06, 2009: The Fourth batch of IIMA’s One Year (full time) Post-Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX 2009-10) was inaugurated on Sunday, April 05, 2009 by Prof. Samir K Barua, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) at the Ravi J Matthai Auditorium, IIMA Main Campus.
Eighty students have joined the PGPX-IV batch. The batch has an average age of 34 years, average GMAT of 720, an average total work experience of 10 years and an average international work exposure of above 7 years that compare very well with the best B-schools around the world. The new batch consists of 56 engineers, a medicinal doctor (MD) and a CA. The students are from various industries that broadly include Financial Services, Telecom, IT, Manufacturing, and public sector. Since the launch of the programme in 2006, a total of 209 students have successfully completed their Post-Graduate Programme for Executive till date.
The PGPX programme is born out of the wealth of knowledge and experience in management leadership grooming that IIMA has. This one year residential programme is designed for mid career professionals / executives with exposure to the world of work to avail themselves of the IIMA experience. It’s an encounter with a curriculum oriented towards decision-making and a chance to hone their skills as management leaders and change agents in the global arena. The objective of the PGPX is to prepare students to take on top management roles in global organizations. In order to ensure this, a key component of the programme is the five-week International Immersion segment, which includes a four-week internship /project work and a week long academic attachment. The International Immersion is schedule during November 09 to December 12, 2009.
The rigorous admission process to choose the sharpest minds in the fray for the PGPX includes GMAT, leadership profiling and personal interviews.
Application for PGPX 2010-11 will be online (www.iimahd.ernet.in) from 1st May to 10th August 2009 for and applications can be submitted online with GMAT scores. Eligibility: Any bachelor’s degree, minimum 27 yrs of age and some work experience at least supervisory level gained after graduation.
