TiEcon Delhi 2009 starts on 18 September

Monday August 17, 2009 , 2 min Read

TiEcon Delhi 2009 will see participation from more than 1,000 intellectuals including entrepreneurs, financial market experts, government policy makers and key people from top business schools

To highlight the link between entrepreneurship and downturns, the Delhi Chapter of TiE is organizing TiEcon Delhi 2009 with the theme ‘Smart Entrepreneurship in Challenging Times’. The event, which will be held on September 18 and 19, 2009, will focus on inspiring and educating entrepreneurs on aspects that impact the entrepreneurial environment and the opportunities relevant to Indian companies, particularly those in the start up phases.

As per TiE Delhi Home Minister P. Chidambaram will address the event, which will see participation from more than 1,000 intellectuals including entrepreneurs, financial market experts, government policy makers and key people from top business schools.

The TiEcon will bring together a complete ecosystem of industry leaders and top-shot entrepreneurs. Those who will exhibit their business at the entrepreneurship event will have the opportunity to reach out to a focused target audience – who get things done!” This year, a large number of top business schools students, too, started their own ventures despite getting good job offers.

TiE will also declare the Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards on September 18 during the networking event. The Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards, instituted by TiE Delhi and Lumis Partners, will acknowledge and applaud the entrepreneurs who have braved the odds and made a mark with their start-ups.

According to TiE Delhi, Private Independent Entities who are in business for less than 5 years can apply for the awards. “Private Independent Entities are eligible to apply, but they should not be a subsidiary of a large firm and should be Indian domiciles. They will be evaluated based on their current clientele and potential pipeline, on their ethical quotient, on the dynamics of the team members and on their offices/website interface, marketing vehicles/campaigns.
