Entrepreneur’s Pursuit: The need of a dedicated team member

generally a very well thought of decision, requiring no explanation in its obvious importance, though, is either most regretted or considered the worse by not only many unsuccessful but by an equal number of successful entrepreneurs.
I dare not raise any doubts over the social and mental coherence one may satiate oneself with by choosing a close college or work-mate as a partner nor do I dare the same with the invaluable advantage brought on the table by a partner with complementary skills, such as, one may be very good at foreseeing and chalking paper plans in and out and the other may be equally adept at executing them with precision down to the last and most irrelevant detail and nor do I question the vantage, an industry veteran can add to the team, for we know old is either gold or scotch whisky, both being the love of the Gods themselves, but what is most imminent in a team and what makes it a team is equal unparalleled spirit in one and all. It is not the common desire to succeed that leads to success but a common dedication to toil and sacrifice to all extents and a spirit of positive competition amongst the team members to outdo the others in the same (ie. Hardwork and dedication) that assures success for a team.
I have often observed teams where members are not equally motivated, which may have different reasons which I shall try and cover in my next article, which without exception leads to the most compassionate person dragging the other members, like a hungry horse pulls a heavy cart in anticipation of food at the end of the journey, thus wasting much of his productive energy and also leading to his frustration. Since there’s a limit to which this horse can carry the cart, he is liable to get tired and may break off. So is the case in this team. And it is generally this most dedicated team member, to whom the idea belongs, or if not so, he may be the one who, has sparked the fire in its progenitor to execute it, or has collected or handpicked the team since him, or has carved it out in its present fineness (both in execution and creative thinking) since its crude inception, and it is due to these efforts not equalled by any other’s commitment and also burdened by the unexpected and undesired responsibility of carrying other team members along, that he suffers anguish and feels discouraged.
It is very important to understand that team members are not people (like average employees) who have a certain dedicated burden of responsibilities to be complied to but stakeholders (or if there was a better and stronger term) who walk extra miles and trouble themselves day in and day out, who have no faith, love, aim or desires left but this one single central idea to make money or serve the society they believe in and are sure to execute now or in the near future. What I have observed and said can be attributed to both my experience and lack of it and it is these both that allow me to suggest (with utmost humbleness and caution) that while looking out for a team for a venture one should pick the most dedicated one, one who has equal faith in the idea as does its progenitor or its benefactor, as the case may be, and one who shall not require to be dragged along no matter what the conditions may be and one whose dedication shall be the greatest asset (intangible or tangible) this team, company or venture can ever have.
