The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is a not-for-profit, independent and neutral organization, founded in 1998, with the purpose to advance social entrepreneurship and to foster social entrepreneurs as an important catalyst for societal innovation and progress. The Foundation is under the legal supervision of the Swiss Federal Government and is headquartered in Cologny-Geneva, Switzerland
The Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship is an affiliate organization of the World Economic Forum, based in Geneva, Switzerland. It is recognized as a leading player in the field of social entrepreneurship. Along with key partners, the Foundation searches for and selects leading social entrepreneurs around the world.
The Foundation provides unparalleled platforms at the country, regional and global levels highlighting its network of social enterprises, which address social and ecological problems in an innovative, sustainable and effective way. It leverages World Economic Forum events and initiatives to develop partnerships between social entrepreneurs and leaders in business, the public sector, media, civil society as well as other prominent communities
You will be responsible for generating awareness of social entrepreneurship among various stakeholders in a particular geography, strengthening the linkages between social entrepreneurs and the private sector. You will also coordinate the “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” search and selection process in one or two of the following regions: Latin America, Africa and South Asia.
You will help shape the knowledge creation and dissemination in the field of social entrepreneurship through facilitating one or two councils of the world’s most prominent experts and practitioners in the field of social entrepreneurship. As the Foundation works closely with the World Economic Forum, you will liaise with other communities, industry teams and cross-industry initiatives to actively promote the network of social entrepreneurs.
In addition, you will be fully integrated into the World Economic Forum as part of the Global Leadership Fellows Programme (www.weforum.org/glf). The benefits include an intensive work and learning experience intended to develop future leaders of global enterprises and international organizations.
