SpadeWorx Software Services is the pioneer of “User Centered Software Engineering™” (UCSE™) methodology to design and develop software solutions, which are relevant and contextual to the end users. These applications are generally referred to as Rich Interactive Applications (RIA). SpadeWorx has developed rich, powerful business and consumer applications for companies in domains such as financial services, telecom, media, and entertainment and manufacturing.

With a long stint in product engineering for close to 24 years, Anil shares his entrepreneurial views with NASSCOM EMERGEOUT startup initiative.

1.        Why did you take up entrepreneurship journey?

Anil Pagar: In my journey as a Product Engineering professional working with companies like IBM and HP, I observed that software were developed with two dimensional approach, the first being problems statements defined by the business owners and the second being software component as a solution with the software engineers’ perception to resolve the issue with technical approach. However, the third critical dimension the end-users were mostly ignored. I thought of brining this dimension’s inclusivity in the software solutions, which gave the idea of developing the software with user-centric approaches. this vision of being leader in User Centered Software Engineering™ drove me on the Entrepreneurial journey.

2.        What keeps you going (how and where do you find your motivation levels)?

Anil Pagar: The primary motivation for me and the other co-founders to start SpadeWorx was to create a platform for the deserving talent to innovate and create a niche. We also wanted to generate employment opportunities for the underprivileged. We at SpadeWorx continuously innovate to create distinct winning value proposition for our customers, creating customer delight through our concern, aptitude, responsiveness and empathy towards their problems.

3.        What is your advice to wannabe entrepreneurs in India?

Anil Pagar: Just bear Humility, become self-effacing, be diligent and resolute.

4.        What success means to you and your organization?

Anil Pagar: Success is the by-product of the journey called “service” to the customers with utmost concern, aptitude, responsiveness and empathy.

5.        What are your learning’s from the failures?

Anil Pagar: Failures are the best teachers to correct and undo perceptions, beliefs, and plans.
