NASSCOM announces mobile apps contest as part of EMERGEOUT fifth edition

The fifth edition of EMERGEOUT is about Internet, Mobile & AppStore – The Next Big Game Changer for emerging/start-up companies. The AppStore economy is one of the three cornerstones of the conference. NASSCOM EMERGE Forum and IAMAI jointly present this opportunity to showcase some of the Top 10 applications that are part of the ecosystem as game changers. This is an opportunity for mobile developers to use this platform and create awareness amongst the user community. After all, the domestic market shows tremendous promise. The short-listed apps will get an opportunity to showcase their apps to an eminent jury, win a prize and get great visibility through the EMERGE platform.

If you have developed an APP (on the iPhone, Blackberry, Google Android, Nokia OviStore, etc), which you think will create waves in the tech world, then please apply. There will be a jury panel which will evaluate all entries and the top 10 Apps will be showcased at the event. If you are amongst the winners, then application will be run at a suitable time during the conference. EMERGEOUT, the flagship event of the EMERGE Community, is really a hot-bed of the user community and attracts some of the leading thought leaders of the industry. This event will also focus on Internet – the future; and the six predictions that are expected to happen sooner than you imagine. In this new order, what can entrepreneurs look for? It is not only about opportunities, but also about challenges. The other area is mobile application. The ecosystem which supports, drives and promotes this domain is simply awe-inspiring. We need to dissect this topic and lay out a comprehensible plan which is comprehensible. What kind of application will finally succeed in India, or is there any comfort in simply aping the West. Social networks are now being considered as the preferred medium of communication. What are the opportunities and roadblocks that lie ahead ? How much of freedom of communication is desirable and how should business leaders look at this whole new perspective. This and much more is going to be deliberated on at Shangri-La on 25th August 2010.
