YourStory.in is glad to announce the commencement of registrations of its flagship event Microsoft Canaan TechSparks 2010, in partnership with CNBC-TV18 Young Turks to be held in Bangalore on 13 August 2010. Register here.In its efforts to contribute significantly to the entrepreneurial spirit and to help entrepreneurs find the right platform to grow their businesses, YourStory is taking firm steps in connecting entrepreneurs to investors, networks, and media after watching the activity for quite sometime from sidelines. We chose the product technology domain as we find a significant gap between potential and execution. If software services can be world class from India, why not software products? The appetite for innovation and world class quality is as good as anyone among the technology entrepreneurs. We endeavor to give them the push!
With Microsoft BizSpark and Canaan Partners lending us the support, the conceptualization is crystallizing into a full-blown mega evening -- Microsoft Canaan TechSparks 2010 -- on August 13, 2010. Tech entrepreneurs will get all they need under one roof at TechSparks -- right connections to scale, investors to fund, and media to publicize their businesses. The TechSparks of 2010, we hope, will go on to become top notch companies eventually.
What is TechSparks 2010?
Microsoft Canaan TechSparks 2010, the YourStory flagship event in association with CNBC Young Turks, is a pan-India hunt for top product startups in the country. Out of 208 companies that registered for this program, we have shortlisted 18 companies. These companies will present their pitches to an impressive gallery of investors, technology enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, corporate honchos, media, students, and others. A keynote and a panel discussion comprising the best of the minds in the investor space will precede the pitches. You are assured of networking and a sumptuous lunch.
Shereen Bhan, the most famous face of entrepreneurial community and one of the forerunners in capturing the spirit of entrepreneurship by hosting Young Turks as early as 2002, the first entrepreneur-only program on CNBC-TV18, will host the grand finale in which TechSparks of 2010 (top 5 out of 18 companies) will be identified.
