YourStory partners with CII Yi Chapter – “Road2Ideas”

CII Road2Ideas - Yi National Innovation Run, the first initiative of CII Yi Chapter kickstarts on January 31, 2010 – February 3, 2010

Yi has scheduled a National Innovation Run with an objective to meet the entrepreneurs/innovators at work and celebrate the impact of these game changing ideas on the community, sector and the country at large. The Yi National Innovation Run will be flagged off at Mumbai on January 31, 2011. From Mumbai, it will pass through to Gujarat, then on to Rajasthan and finally conclude at Delhi on February 3, 2011. Every day the teams will meet 2 innovators/inventors and carry out a standardized assessment of the innovation at work and its impact on the community and industry. Innovation in different sectors will be showcased during the event with students in each city visiting entrepreneurs and innovative companies in different industries. Online polls will be held to select the innovators that appeal the most based on the videos, slideshows and assessment tool summaries available online for public viewing.

To move to the next location, a series of brain-teasers and challenges that test out-of-the-box thinking, speed, agility, aptitude and life skills will be carried out at the evening pit-stops. The elimination exercises will test them on their ingenuity, aptitude, innovativeness, agility, presence of mind, business skills, marketing, ethics, and managerial/people skills. Teams will be shortlisted based on a quantitative parameter of turning in the highest profit. The shortlisted teams will also be qualitatively assessed on soft issues like ethics, ingenuity and people skills, etc. using a public jury defense. The teams with the lowest profits or highest losses for the day will be eliminated. Remaining teams will move to the next city for further interactions with innovators. Eliminated teams will all proceed directly to Delhi to attend Yi Innovation Summit: New Delhi, February 4, 2011

The online polls will close on February 3, 2011 and the best innovators along the route will be decided based on popular vote and also based on a Yi next practices jury decision based on the video, slideshows and other materials prepared during the Run.
