Betrand Yella, IBEE Solutions: Bringing business efficiency to enterprises through web & mobile apps

YourStory caught up with entrepreneur Betrand Yella to know more about his entrepreneurial journey from a remote village to successfully running IBEE Solutions, an enterprise solutions company that employs 40 people.

If someone asked you to tell them about IBEE Solutions in about three sentences, what would you say?

We provide innovative, business-efficient enterprise Solutions. If you’re looking for a perfect one-stop solution for web and mobile application development, you should contact us. We believe in exceeding our customers’ expectations as a benchmark for customer satisfaction.

How is IBEE Solutions different from other application development firms?

We provide end-to-end application development solutions like building a strategy for the application to hosting the application and maintaining it. We adopt the latest technologies very swiftly and pass on the benefits of those to our customers. We recruit and retain the best talent available in the market. Some of our team members are toppers from IITs.

Our core competencies are managed application hosting, web application development, mobile application development and SharePoint development.

Tell us about your background.

I was born and brought up in a remote village where good education and access to internet was a dream. While pursuing my Bachelors degree in computer science from 1999 to 2003, I wanted do something different than what my friends were doing - like writing GMAT and flying off to USA.So, in the final year of my graduation degree, I thought it was the right time to start something of my own. Fortunately, at that point of time, I met Mr.Prabhu, a mentor-like figure who actually taught me how to do business and we started a company called Infowave together. Our first project was our college website and its student management application.

After running that business for 3 years successfully, I exited Infowave and started IBEE Solutions with the vision to create innovative and affordable solutions.

Is there acceptance for your concept?

We have strategic tie-ups with companies like Google, Nokia and CtrlS in cloud services area. We have implemented cloud services like Google Apps and AppEngine applications to major companies like Haier Telecom, ACCO Pipe etc.

What is IBEE Solutions’ revenue model? Have you been funded?

The company has a strong revenue model and our revenues come from our products, services and managed hosting solutions. Until now, we haven’t opted for any funding. We’re managing it from our own pockets.

What are the challenges that you faced while developing your solutions? How did you overcome those challenges?

Adopting the latest technology is the biggest challenge that we’ve faced over the last five years. There has been tremendous growth in technology and innovation. Things have changed massively since the success of Facebook, Twitter, smart phones and cloud computing. We overcome this by constant learning and spending a lot on training and building our team.

How big is the team behind IBEE Solutions? Are you looking at hiring?

Currently, we have about 40 people. That includes UI/UX designers, developers, mobile team, support services team, marketing and sales team and the testing team. Yes, we are hiring people with skill sets encompassing Python, Google AppEngine and Windows Azure.

How has the journey been so far? What are you betting on, for the future?

We host more than 500 enterprise-class applications in our servers and we have deployed more than 45 applications in last 5 years. We are betting more on cloud-based web and mobile-based apps. We are also looking at innovative applications which are based on machine learning algorithms and can be used for automation.
