From ideation to validation – First Startup Garage concludes in Pune
Wednesday May 04, 2011 , 2 min Read
The event aimed at bringing together highly focused and passionate entrepreneurs from across the country over the weekend to either present their idea expected to tap Internet Consumer market or if they don’t have an idea gave them a chance to get hands on the real time validation and execution of the one.
Participants with diverse professional background came together and kick started the event with a two minute Pitch of their idea followed by idea bashing by the fellow participants and other visiting advisors, who have their businesses up and running. After several rounds of networking participants who managed to sell their idea to others formed teams and started working on designing the prototype of their product. Team leads examined every hypothesis with suitable test cases to validate them, designed MVP feature list and flow of their product with the help of their team mates. Visiting advisors from their experience also helped the participants to get a better understanding of the current market condition and feasibility of their product. The event concluded with a precise and refined pitch by 8 Team Leads about their products and the immediate execution plan. For those who came without an idea it was a good platform to connect with fellow entrepreneurs and work with them.
Startup Garage is an initiative by L-pad, a remote incubation program for early phase startups founded by Mohit Bansal. He said, “Encouraged by the positive response from participants we look forward to bring out this event with better and improved structure in other cities as well.”(change this)
POCC and Startup Saturday also partnered with L-pad for the event. Here is what they thought of the entire event.
"Startup Garage is a much needed initiative for Pune's entrepreneur community. With Startup Garage, Mohit has the potential to give momentum to the nascent startups, and ideas out there. I was glad that the participants began shaping their ideas with each others help into something much more valuable over the 2 days." - Santosh Dawara, Founder punestartups.org and Entrepreneur
