3 Analytics Veterans Startup their own Firm: MathLogic
Incorporated 6 months back, Mathlogic offers Analytics consulting services to Banking, Insurance, Wealth Management, and Etailing businesses.
“We’ve been working in these spaces for more than a decade now and can handle a project end to end” says Rahul Goyal when asked about why they chose to be present in these areas.
“We offer focused bespoke solutions in the area of fraud mitigation, Credit risk, and Customer analytics – the idea is to remain 100% focused on the key strengths that we have. We believe our solutions will be best in class as they are going be backed by our long experience working with multiple clients across geographies”, adds Rahul.
One might question as to why would a client give business to a company formed by people who’ve dropped out of a bigger organization to start their own firm? “Well, there are multiple ways of thinking about this. Firstly, there are advantages with a small professional services firm. We will be focused; all our projects and clients will get individual attention by our highly experienced core team. The models used in bigger corporate are typically one-size-suits-all but this is not what we’d be doing. And speaking more realistically with a base in reason, we’re also going to have a special focus on Indian market, which is getting to the maturity on the data continuum.” says Rahul.
Talking about scope, Rahul informs, “Today, there is not a huge demand and value recognition about business analytics, specifically in India, because firms we focus on see 20% growth YoY. For example, the fraud and waste, in say, e-tailing is around 8%-10% of total revenue. It is being ignored at present, the focus largely on growth levers, but in the future when the growth isn’t sustained, all these losses will come to the fore and that’s where we come in.” Also, MathLogic is totally tools agnostic. The client shares the data, the context and the background to the business problem and MathLogic would strive to provide solutions with the tools the client is comfortable with.
