Spreading Digital Media “Appiness” All Around; Winners of 5 International Design Awards
Appiness is the brainchild of Visakh Viswambharan who is a first generation entrepreneur. Having worked in various organizations for around 8 years, Visakh is a veteran in the field of Digital Media. Appiness was started as a medium to bridge the gap created with rapid changes in web technology where the incumbents were not able to adapt and master the new developments.
Appiness believes in comprehensive web solutions for their clients; they call it WPSM- Web Presence Strategy and Management. This is a holistic approach that guides, regulates and optimizes the image of a Brand/Service/Firm in the webosphere.
Web Presence Strategy and Management consist of 4 phases, which usually overlap each other.
Phase 1: Brand Background
Phase 2: Creation of online presence- Web design and development
Phase 3: Online Marketing and Brand Management- Social Media Marketing (SMM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Media Planning, Web Content Management (WCM), Web Collaterals, and Online Reputation Management (ORM).
Phase 4: Web analytics and reporting.
“We provide the complete online solutions required for any firm and we create a pricing strategy with reference to the revenue generation. We believe in creating solutions which will create revenue for the organizations; the clients never mind paying if we can provide them with revenue generation models,” says Visakh explaining the revenue model.
They have managed to get clients through reference from their existing clients. One of their first clients was Vincent Samuel, an internationally acclaimed event manager, for whom they designed and developed a website which won multiple international design awards. He referred them to Liquidspace for whom they did their corporate web presence and then got their international music property, Storm Festival.
“The market in India has not realized the value of web as a marketing media yet. Across the globe advertisers are moving a huge chunk of the money to the digital domain and reducing the ad spend on traditional media where our businesses are yet to wake up to the truth. They are still ready to shell out big money on traditional media with limited shelf life where digital media that has multiple benefits including longer impact, 2 way communication and absolute measurability is still not considered as a primary medium of advertisements,” says Visakh.
They have solid future growth plans: they have started an office in Kochi and a delivery center in Doha, Qatar to service the Middle East market. They are also venturing into the growing Mobile Application markets with a new setup in Trivandrum. They are planning to launch a web-based product in couple of months’ time.
In the past 19 months of their existence, they have won 5 International design awards and 20+ nominations out of 30 projects they have executed.
