A Budding Creative Media Agency- 'A Place Where Ideas Grow'
What do you do when you run out of ideas to gift someone? What do you gift someone who has everything? Well, APWIG thought differently to answer these questions. APWIG gives you the option of gifting a video or may be a set of personalised comic books.
A creative media agency, APWIG (A Place Where Ideas Grow) was started by two college friends, Ria Chauhan and Supratim Dam. APWIG dons multiple hats from producing films of all kinds, ranging from corporate films to promotional films to documentaries and short films. On the other hand it also promotes an art movement by promoting less explored Indian forms of artistic expression like theatre, film making, photography through workshops and other fun events.Started almost two months ago, Ria adds the visual appeal to the company while Supratim takes care of devising of strategies, pitching ideas and finding ways to execute them. “We both knew in our heads that eventually we would want to break away from the ties of a job and do what we were truly passionate about. Ria comes from business background as both her parents run their own companies, so she was well aware of the benefits of being your own boss,” says Supratim, Co-Founder, APWIG.
Targeted at Corporates for designing and short films and middle-aged people for all the personalized gift options, their workshops and fun events are targeted at students. With their personalized gifting ideas being their USP, team APWIG don’t overload themselves with work and focus on one assignment at a time for the personalized finish. Watch, Discuss, Create, are the three pillars that Apwig stands on. "We believe that the answers to the issues lie in the issues itself," they say.
Marketing efforts are limited to word of mouth marketing, digital media primarily for visibility purposes. Not having a clear a marketing strategy, the duo wants their work to speak for themselves. Seeing themselves as a one-of-a-kind end to end media company, they have high ambitions and envision being the ‘Apple’ of the media industry.
“There is this strong belief in society that you need experience to do anything substantial. True to an extent, maybe you need experience to deal with situations and execute ideas but it does not mean that someone without experience is worth nothing. It is all about the idea today and you do not need experience for ideas. Imagination is good enough for that,” shares Supratim.
