[YS TV] “You’ve to be as comfortable with your investors as they are with you” – Vir Kashyap, COO Babajob
In India, job seeking and hiring in the informal sector is currently pretty inefficient and relys a lot on word of mouth or analog channels of communication. Babajob was started towards the end of 2007 in Bangalore with the intention of making the informal job sector more efficient. It started operating on a national level from mid 2009. Babajob recently raised funding from Grey Ghost Ventures and Khosla Impact fund and have also announced their intent to explore opportunities in Indonesia and few other countries.
Vir Kashyap, COO , Babajob recently visited the YourStory.in studio and talked about their growth story in the last 5 years and how the recent funding impacts their plans. Vir also spoke on Sean’s role as the founder and how the social enterprise sector in India is witnessing a lot of entrepreneurs like him from abroad starting up and becoming an important part of the industry. He explains the funding aspects saying- “It really depends on who you’re working with. Different investors take different approaches. You have to be as comfortable with your investors as they are with you.”
