[Fabulous Workplace] Take a Tour of Sourcebits- The Design Led Engineering Juggernaut from India

Monday October 22, 2012 , 2 min Read

Sourcebits has become synonymous with design excellence in India. One of the few companies in the country that depends on design to differentiate itself, Sourcebits has an enviable success story. Sourcebits is a design-led engineering company delving into development for mobile, cloud and the web. The founder Rohit Singhal is a doctor by profession but following his passion, turned to coding to build a company from the basement of a building.

Having grown over the years, Sourcebits is a truly global company now and has people working for it from across the world. With multiple offices in India, US and Europe, maintaining a culture becomes of essence. Talking about the work culture, Rohit mentioned, “I believe in giving 100% ownership and keeping a flat organization. So we have a partner model where we have about 25% partners right now and each one of them is free to take whatever decision is it that they want to take. They can also accept or reject projects. It is not a hierarchy where there are 20 people at the top and they make the decisions.”

We also interviewed Hage Yaapa, the first employee to join Sourcebits to throw more light on the culture and this video take us through how the culture has been built and how Sourcebits has succeeded.

Rohit Singhal will also be conducting an interactive workshop on How to successfully build/launch an App on AppStore at Mobisparks which is happening on November 24th.
