The James Bond of Power Management; IPMPlus Launches Android App
Headquartered in Mysore, India, Vigyanlabs is a startup focusing on clean technologies. Founded in 2008, the company has concentrated on creating IP (intellectual property) and then coming out with products under the IPMPlus suite. The experienced duo of Srinivas Varadarajan and Srivatsa Krishnaswamy co-founded the company along with Sanjaya Ganesh Hariharan, the lead product architect and Anand Hariharan, vice-president of marketing.
Vigyanlabs believes in intelligent power management and have developed a suite of products that can help one save power- IPMPlus can help save 30-50% on the power bills of IT infrastructure (from mobile to Servers). This is a patented technology: US Patent – 8,201,007 and hence they like to call themselves the "James Bond of Power Management" (although the real James Bond might want to take a lesson or two from them).
Vigyanlabs has an impressive product suite which consists of the following products:
The products have a huge CSR angle and Anand illustrates this:
In Bangalore, let’s assume Wipro, TCS and Infosys together have 3 x 50,000 desktops = 1.5 lakh desktops (approx.) We can save 30% on power. 1 desktop = 2x40W tubelights. What this means is an additional 50,000 x 2 = 100,000 tubelights can be lighted up – that’s 1 lakh homes getting lighted up or we can have 30% less power cuts.
And along with all the existing products, Vigyanlabs has recently launched the Android app that can can make an 800 MHz processor work like a 1.0 GHz processor or in other words, help stretch battery by 15-20%.
This app has got good reviews till now and it can be downloaded from Google Play.
