Angel-funded EduRaft will help parents find the right school and tuitions for their children
Any parent with a school going kid is always in a dilemma about the education that is being imparted to his child. Many questions linger in the mind of a parent. You can rely only on the recommendation of your peers. But still the Indian parent is elusive while searching for the right schools and hobby classes for his child. EduRaft was started up to address this need.
EduRaft has conceived an idea to make the search less painful for parents. Information about more than 20,000 schools and a number of tutorials has been listed on the site. In December 2012, EduRaft also announced its first round of fund raising of 33 lacs from angel investors.
The website went online in June 2012. Although only available in Chennai and Mumbai as of now, EduRaft’s flagship product, the school search portal, has attracted over 80,000 visits from over the country till date. Thirukumaran Nagarajan, Aarthi Ramasubramanian, and Sharathbabu Loganathan form the core team of EduRaft. They have had considerable experience in different domains, post which they did their MBA, only to work with dedication in the education sector in India.
EduRaft currently features two kinds of revenue generating product offerings apart from the school search portal.
- Assisted School Search: Helps parents find the right school for their children taking the burden of short listing based on requirements and tracking admission processes.
- Partner Listing: Targets tutorials and classes providing allied school activities. It is a listing service that aims at providing a) the tutors the right target audience and b) the parents important information for their decision making process.
