We got in touch with Amrutash for an exclusive chat:
YS: What is Multistory all about? Is it completely offline?
AM: MultiStory Learning was setup to make mainstream products that aid learning via storytelling and hence the name. The flagship product - Book Lovers' Program for Schools (BLPS) - is a structured "plug and play" program for classes 1 to 8 for which Prof. Ananth ex-director IIT Madras advises us. Yes, we are a completely offline company, we don't have a web presence apart from the token FB page and the form submit at www.blps.in.
YS: Can you elaborate a bit more on BLPS.
AM: BLPS helps schools get their children to love to read. It comes with books, activities, teacher training, everything that a school needs to run it. BLPS is a structured reading program for the primary and middle school levels. The BLPS team works with the school library and English Department to improve the 3 Cs- Comprehension, Communication and Creative thinking.
YS: When was the BLPS program started and what is its reach.
AM: The pilot started in January 2010 and our first sales cycle was for the academic year 2012-13.
In the academic year 2012-13, we touch 6900 kids in 15 schools via BLPS. We're expecting to grow between 7x to 10x with the investment. We also touch about 2.5Lac kids through the Hindu in School page -- We generate the 3rd page "StoryBoard" every Tuesday.
YS: Tell us a bit about your clients and how the funds would be used.
AM: Prominent schools like P S Senior, Bhavans Rajaji and Vidya Mandir are major clients for Multistory and we are also a content partner to The Hindu's school edition for content based on books, reading and literature in general. The raised funds will be used to expand the program to more schools.
