GSF Accelerator Opens up applications for the second batch; Will select 20 promising startups
Rajesh Sawhney’s GSF Accelerator is the first one in India to try out a multi city format with their first batch where in they had centers in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. 15 startups were selected for the inaugural batch that presented at the demo day in Delhi. Recently expanding to Chennai, the accelerator has opened up applications for the second batch.
The month long search will select 20 startups out of India, 5 from each of the 4 cities. The startups in the first batch were given an initial funding of INR 15 lakhs in return for equity of around 7-10%. GSF also brings along with it a network of international mentors and a rigorous 9 week program where the startups are made ready to hit the market. 9 of the 15 startups from the first batch have received subsequent funding.
The selection process
The GSF team will review all applications received online and will shortlist startups for first round of personal interviews. 10-12 startups will be finally selected for presentation to the Investor Panel in each city. Decisions on GSF Class ‘13 will be announced mid-April.
Criteria to apply
The startup should have a usable prototype or minimum viable product ready which can be tried during the selection process. Only teams that are working fulltime on the business qualify and GSF rarely take single founder companies. The teams should be based in India.
