A few months ago, we had the pleasure of hosting Rajesh Setty, a veteran entrepreneur, author and speaker at our office. Hard to judge from his calm demeanor about the things he has achieved, his 'story telling' power soon got us deeply involved and left us wanting for more. WittyParrot was still in the ‘evolve’ mode at that point in time.

He whipped out his Mac and dived into an engaging story about how each company wants each of its employees to speak in the same voice (ways in which they communicate). And that’s a pain point many enterprises will associate with. Founded by Rajesh and Anil Jwalanna (CEO), WittyParrot is a tool that’ll help organizations simplifying their sales communication.

The tool is mainly targeted towards sales folks because according to Rajesh, research shows that salespeople spend 28 hours or more finding the right information to provide so that they can keep pressing ahead in their sales cycles. Also, organizations are getting more global and consistency in messaging is the need of the hour. Brand consistency is easily preached but rarely executed well. These are two areas WittyParrot adds value to.

So, how does it work?

A simple desktop application, WittyParrot can be installed in a machine and then it acts like a side widget. Upon installation, this is how the app looks like where a user can create wits. Wits are pieces of information that one uses repeatedly and wants everyone in the organization to maintain the same tone with:

These wits which can also be attachments can be added, categorized, modified and played around with. Once created, they can be used by anyone in the organization. And this happens by dragging and dropping from a sidebar which appears once you’re logged into your desktop application.

One can simply pick a piece of information and drop it into a mail, word document or anywhere else. This saves a lot of time and helps everyone remain in tune with what messaging a company should adapt.

Currently a 12 member team including the founders, Witty Parrot recently launched at the LAUNCH conference in US after a careful 18 month long iteration process that started in the third quarter of 2011. The pricing is on a per user basis with an option of monthly payment or yearly. The professional version is $20/month/user and $200/year/user while the enterprise version is $30/month/user and $300/year/user. The free trial is for 30 days.

Having beta customers in multiple countries, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 1000, WittyParrot is already in talks completing their seed investment and the good problem they have is that they're over subscribed. Here's their pitch:
