eCommerce portal launches keep up momentum, new players make entry
eCommerce is always in the news in India, and why not? India's etailing market is expected to touch $30 Bn by 2015 as the internet penetration increases. Many eCommerce companies have perished in the price wars (can a bit of game theory help?) and the sector is seeing consolidation at this moment. Flipkart recently raised $200 million which is the highest an Indian eCommerce company has raised and we also saw Snapdeal raise $50 million and went on to acquire Shopo. Consolidation will be the way ahead but we're still seeing a lot of eCommerce stores pop up (here are the top 12 we picked in 2012). Here are the latest ones and we'll add more as they come up:Assamkart: An only ebook store from the North-East India; it is the one stop destination for Assamese and English ebooks of the writers of Assam.
