Bilna.com, Indonesia’s largest independent online shop for everyday baby products has successfully completed a new round of financing. The funding was raised from existing investors Cyber Agent Ventures and East Ventures with new investors DG Incubation (DGI), TMS Entertainment (TMS) and Golden Gate Ventures (GGV) joining the investor group. Digital Garage Incubation led this round.In 2013, its first full fiscal year, Bilna.com is building a foothold and is emerging as the clear category leader in online sales to parents in South-East Asia’s most populous region. This is also evident by the increasing support the baby products retailer has been getting from principals, banks, telecom and media in the region. Bilna is also committed to a world-class customer experience, one in three customers return for more purchases indicating the high level of customer satisfaction.

“We are thrilled to have the additional support of world-class investors such as DGI, TMS and Golden Gate Ventures in our quest to be Indonesia’s most customer-centric e-commerce”, says Ferry Tenka, co-founder and CEO of Bilna. Eka Himawan, co-founder and COO/CFO, adds: “The new capital will fuel our full list of developments such as our expansion into a new vertical, and also to enlarge and modernize our warehouse to build a scalable operation that can withstand multiples of the current volume”

Bilna’s ride in 2013 has been amazing; orders reached a peak of more than 1000 per day. The strong growth was fueled by a diversity of products, efficient operations, dedicated logistics and highly targeted marketing. But the quest does not stop there, the management has set out aggressive targets for 2014 and they remain positive on achieving it.
