[PhotoSparks] ‘Art for all, art for less’ – how Gallery G promotes art as creativity and business

In the earlier 135 posts, we brought you a wide range of creative photographs from an art fair, world music festival, painting fair, telecom expo, art museum, mobile showcase, math museum, social hackathon, bookstore, co-working space, sensorium, international design week, flower show, outdoor ads, startup roadshow, computer museum, startup T-shirts, business cards, art therapy, startup festival, Diwali rangoli, Vesak, jazz festival, modern art gallery, ecopreneurs, painter-poets, health activists, eNGOs and digital innovators.

Gallery G was started in 2003 by art entrepreneur Gitanjali Maini to promote art and make it accessible for the broader public. Located on Lavelle Road in Bengaluru, it showcases contemporary and heritage Indian art along with consultancy services for collectors, investors, architects and interior designers. Over 150 artists have had their works displayed, promoted and sold via Gallery G over the years.

Thematic exhibitions in recent times have been titled Opulence and Eternity, In Search of the Buddha, Creators and Curators, The Joy of Nuance, Walk the Green Carpet, Faces and Forms, Kol Katha, Neo Geo, Neo Goa, and Explicit Implicit. The current exhibition is called Art for All, Art for Less, and features the works of Aparna Caur, Bharti Prajapati, Mohammed Osman, Rabin Dutta, Asit Sarkar, Ganpati Hegde, Buwa Shete and others.

Gallery G has also launched initiatives such as Print Brew, with prints and other market outreach channels. The gallery is associated with the Kochi Muziris Biennale as well. Watercolours, charcoals, acrylics, oils, sculptures and other installations delight the visitor, as showcased in this photo essay.

Full-time and part-time artists are riding India's economic wave and displaying their works at numerous galleries and festivals in the country and overseas, and art is increasingly emerging as a feasible career option. Now what have you done this weekend to promote and support art in your city?
