Oracle bets on 15 Indian startups for its cloud accelerator programme
Besides providing mentoring and advice, the programme elements include free credits on Oracle Cloud, access to Oracle’s technology, co-working spaces, and access to Oracle customers, partners and investors.
Oracle India recently announced a new batch of startups under its Startup Cloud Accelerator Programme in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi. The third batch of cohort has five startups from Bengaluru and the first batch of five startups from Delhi and Mumbai each. They are a mix of artificial intelligence (AI), predictive analytics, automation, internet of things (IoT), Chatbots, machine learning (ML) and virtual reality (VR) technologies.
Sanket Atal, Group Vice President of Development, Oracle India said, “Oracle is committed to disruption, and tech startups are shaping the new business landscape. Bengaluru being the startup hub, we first launched the programme here and have now expanded to eight other centres around the globe.”
After the successful pilot in Bengaluru (in April 2016), Oracle’s Startup Cloud Accelerator programme is on a global expansion spree, expanded to seven additional cities – Mumbai, Bristol, Delhi-NCR, Paris, Sao Paulo, Singapore and Tel Aviv. These centres had launched their first cohort at the same time as Bengaluru’s third batch.
Besides providing mentoring and advice, the programme elements include free credits on Oracle Cloud, access to Oracle’s technology, co-working spaces, access to Oracle customers, partners and investors.
Sanket said, “The startups with top talent can leverage Oracle’s technology and the crucial go-to-market access. We have large enterprise customers and we work on a robust systematic approach to help them get tremendous propositions.”
Oracle also helps them in product management and proposition. It helps the client in understanding the market and environment, while they map their products to Oracle’s customer needs.
So far, 11 startups have graduated in Bengaluru and have seen success in their domain. Sanket said, “One has gone into mass production, another received third-party funding and international orders, while others have been approached by investors and organisations for possible acquisition. Most startups are also using Oracle’s enterprise-grade cloud platform and infrastructure to power their business.”
