Easy-to-use online tools for creating eye-catching visuals

Thursday November 09, 2017 , 3 min Read

If you’re a non-designer and your field of work requires you to create designs from time-to-time, fret not, as you’re not alone. While it is true that all of us cannot be artistic, creativity knows no bounds. There are hundreds of free design tools for non-designers on the internet that can help you create stunning visuals. Most of these tools offer a free trial and are available for free even after you’ve exhausted your trial. However, with little to no knowledge of design, it can get difficult for a lay person to pick the right tool.

Here’s a quick guide to a few easy-to-use tools on the internet for non-designers.

Canva

Not only does Canva offer you the chance to create your own visuals, it also has a ‘Design School’ option on their website through which they impart knowledge on design tips and tricks. In addition to the free material that Canva offers its users, there are templates and stock photos that come at a minimal cost. Canva also has pre-made design layouts and pre-sized templates for Facebook Cover Photo, Pinterest Graphic, and the like. Whether you are a small business or a one-man/woman army and getting started, you will find the tool useful for creating visuals.

LiveLuvCreate

This one is for bloggers, especially those who are feeling their way into the world of blogging. If you want a simple yet professional looking image to use on your blog post or an inspirational image quote to share on Instagram, head to LiveLuvCreate. It’s a free online tool that lets you create a design quickly, and offers free, high-quality graphics, borders, effects, and filters. It also allows you to upload your own photos from your computer or Facebook profile.

Pablo

Pablo is an online design tool that is the offering of the social media management team from Buffer. A fairly simple and easy to use photo editing tool, you don’t need to sign-up to use Pablo. It also offers a wide range and array of images, all free-of-cost. Moreover, you can also choose from the pre-defined screen sizes and apply numerous photo filters to get your desired result.

Pixlr

Pixlr is basically the simpler online version of Photoshop and allows you to edit photos and graphics in your preferred size. The Pixlr Editor is the main web application; however, if you just want to throw some text over an image, you can opt for Pixlr Express and have your design ready in minutes.

Logo Type Maker

Are you looking for a new logo for your brand? Logo Type Maker can set you up with one for free. All you need to do is type in the name of your business and choose from the several pages of logos that open in front of you. Once you find something you like, you can modify the shape and add additional images to customize it further.

With some of these tools, you can get started as a blogger, create your own images for social media, design your own logo, and even create graphics for your business. You don’t need artistic flair and skill nor the money to hire someone to create the graphic you need. There are many more tools on the internet, but these are the ones I found easy to use. Go on and try these out to create your own graphics.
