InsuranceDekho, RenewBuy announce merger
Two insurtech startups, InsuranceDekho and RenewBuy, have announced a merger to build a pan-India insurance distribution platform.
According to a company statement, the combined entity will bring together InsuranceDekho’s strong presence in northern and western India with RenewBuy’s network in the south. The merged business will have a premium book of over Rs 6,600 crore, more than six lakh digital partners, and coverage across 98.57% of India’s pin codes as of March 31, 2026.

upGrad has completed its acquisition of Unacademy in an all-stock transaction worth a little over $200 million, marking a major deal in the edtech industry.
The M&A transaction, which brings together two major edtech businesses, gives upGrad an entry into the online test-preparation segment. It also helps upGrad connect with learners across more touchpoints.
Ashwini Vaishnaw highlights 20-year vision for India’s semicon industry
India has begun establishing a semiconductor industry after decades of attempts, but Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the progress so far is only the beginning of a much larger effort.
In a video posted on X, he described semiconductors as a foundational industry because chips are used in products ranging from refrigerators and televisions to cars, trains, aircraft, computers and mobile phones.

Yuma Energy raises $35M in Series A
Yuma Energy, a battery-swapping venture co-founded by Yulu and Magna International, has raised $35 million in a Series A funding round led by Magna International, the global automotive supplier.
The company said it will use the funds primarily to expand its battery-swapping infrastructure across India. Yuma Energy has completed 60 million battery swaps to date, with 100,000 batteries deployed across more than 2,500 charging units and 400 touchpoints in 18 cities.
Kepler Aerospace bags $8M to deploy swarming satellites
Kepler Aerospace, a space infrastructure and mission operations company, has raised $8 million in a seed round led by Blue Ashva Capital and co-led by Finvolve India Accelerator and other investors.
The Bengaluru-based firm plans to use the capital primarily to deploy the first six satellites in its autonomous swarming intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance programme under India’s Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) initiative. It has secured two iDEX prime contracts and received about $4 million in grants under the programme.
Aeron Systems raises Rs 45 Cr in pre-Series B funding
Pune-based deep-tech company Aeron Systems has raised Rs 45 crore in a Pre-Series B funding round jointly led by Riverwalk Holdings and MGF-Kavachh. The company develops navigation, weather sensing and monitoring technologies for aerospace, defence and industrial applications.
The funding will support manufacturing capacity expansion, product development, research and development and international growth, particularly for its inertial navigation systems. Aeron's portfolio includes inertial navigation systems, avionics, air data computers, weather sensing, flight test instrumentation and resilient positioning, navigation and timing technologies.
Founded 18 years ago, the company counts HAL, BEL, DRDO, the Indian Army and Indian Navy among its customers.
Zenergize raises $4M to scale SiC power electronics
Bengaluru-based deep-tech company Zenergize Technologies has raised $4 million in a Pre-Series A round led by Giraffe Studios, comprising equity and venture debt, with participation from industrial entrepreneurs and existing investors.
The company develops Silicon Carbide-based power electronics and has reached an annual revenue run rate of Rs 30 crore, with an order book exceeding Rs 150 crore within a year of commercialisation. Zenergize will use the funding to expand manufacturing, engineering, sales and service operations, and accelerate product development.
Its portfolio includes an indigenous SiC-based DC fast charger and solar inverter platforms. The company is also developing hybrid and battery energy storage system inverters and targets a revenue run rate above Rs 100 crore.
Alteon raises $2.5M to develop months-long autonomous aircraft
Bengaluru-based aerospace company Alteon has raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding led by Lachy Groom, with participation from Together Fund. The company is developing autonomous dynamic soaring aircraft designed to remain airborne for months by extracting energy from wind gradients.
In an August offshore test, an Alteon aircraft autonomously completed multiple loops less than a metre above the ocean, demonstrating a key capability required for sustained dynamic soaring. The new funding will support development towards autonomous flight without propulsion and further R&D.
Founded in 2025 by Samay Sanghvi, Alteon has a team of 20 and is targeting applications including ocean monitoring, weather observation, infrastructure monitoring, search and rescue, science and defence.
Oppex AI raises Rs 4.2 Cr in pre-seed funding
Oppex AI has raised Rs 4.2 crore in a pre-seed funding round from Info Edge Ventures to accelerate product development, expand its team and scale customer deployments.
The company is developing an agentic platform for production operations that uses AI to investigate and manage software incidents, aiming to reduce the manual work involved in incident response. Founded less than eight months ago, Oppex has deployed its platform across multiple enterprises, with users in India, the UK, EU and US.
The fresh capital will support product development and hiring, with the company expanding its Forward Deployed Engineering and Developer Relations teams.
MS Dhoni invests in AI-powered English learning app SpeakX
MS Dhoni has invested in SpeakX, an AI-powered English learning app focused on helping Indians improve spoken English through personalised, practical learning. Launched in 2024, SpeakX says it has reached more than 1 crore learners, with 10 lakh subscribers added in the past six months. The company says four in five active learners speak English in more than 90% of their interactions on the platform.
Dhoni will also feature in the learner experience, appearing at onboarding and milestone moments. SpeakX offers learning support in more than 16 languages and targets users across different regions, professions and educational backgrounds.
xStep raises funding from Titan Capital to expand neurorehabilitation platform
Neurotechnology company xStep has raised an undisclosed investment from Titan Capital to expand its non-invasive neurorehabilitation platform in India. Founded by neuroscientist Dr Parag Gad, xStep uses spinal neuromodulation alongside structured rehabilitation for conditions including cerebral palsy, stroke, spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis.
The funding will support commercial expansion, manufacturing, clinical evidence and regulatory work. xStep has also launched xStep One, a neurorehabilitation centre in Bengaluru, offering its spinal neuromodulation technology alongside Trexo Robotics' wearable robotic gait trainer.
The company says more than 1,000 people have been treated or supported through its technology and associated clinical programmes, with over 25 clinical studies and evidence programmes underway across 20 countries.

Shipsy launches beta of logistics AI intelligence layer
Shipsy has launched the beta version of Shipsy Brain, an AI intelligence layer designed to help enterprises make and execute logistics decisions within defined controls. The platform combines specialised open-source models with logistics data generated through Shipsy's platform, including more than 50 billion operational events, 100 billion GPS pings, 342 carrier integrations and over 5,000 workflows.
Shipsy Brain coordinates models for documents, consignments, trips, workflows and finance, supporting applications such as document validation, anomaly detection, ETA prediction, routing and settlement management. Integrated with Shipsy's AgentFleet, it can identify automatable tasks, seek permission and execute approved actions. Shipsy says its document-intelligence model achieved 86.6% accuracy in internal benchmarks, compared with 63.4% for an earlier Gemini comparison.
House of Anita Dongre partners with MoEngage to unify customer data
House of Anita Dongre has partnered with MoEngage to unify customer data across physical stores, e-commerce and loyalty programmes and enable personalised customer engagement. The fashion group will combine point-of-sale data, online behaviour, loyalty attributes and browsing history into a single customer view.
The platform will support audience segmentation, AI-powered product recommendations across email, WhatsApp and SMS, and integration of offline purchases with digital engagement. The group plans to expand its use of MoEngage's AI capabilities to improve customer journey targeting and develop dashboards covering store performance, category trends and CRM revenue.
Navi AMC launches Nifty REITs and Realty Index Fund
Navi AMC has launched the Navi Nifty REITs & Realty Index Fund, an open-ended index fund tracking the Nifty REITs & Realty Index. The New Fund Offer opens on September 1 and closes on September 10.
The index provides exposure to listed real estate investment trusts and real estate development companies. It comprises up to 15 constituents and requires a minimum 60% allocation to REITs, with a 15% cap on individual securities.
The index is free-float market capitalisation weighted and rebalanced quarterly. The fund aims to deliver returns in line with the index, subject to tracking error.
Niyo to acquire RemitX forex and cross-border business
Niyo has signed an agreement to acquire the forex and cross-border business of Capital India Finance, operated under the RemitX brand.
RemitX has 32 branches across 16 states and more than 30 cities, along with over 2,500 distribution partners across travel, overseas education and corporate segments. More than 200 employees are expected to join Niyo's wholly owned subsidiary Kanji Forex.
The acquisition will expand Niyo's physical presence to more than 40 locations and strengthen access to foreign currency, forex cards and outward remittances, including in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The combined business will operate under Kanji Forex's AD Category II licence.
Bijliride partners with Swiggy and Zomato to offer EV rentals
EV mobility platform Bijliride has partnered with Swiggy and Zomato to provide delivery partners with electric two-wheelers through its rental platform. The company has deployed more than 5,500 EVs across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Riders can access EVs without an upfront purchase, with battery swapping, doorstep battery delivery and 24-hour roadside assistance.
Bijliride says it has facilitated more than 35,000 battery swaps and 9,000 battery deliveries, with over 200,000 app downloads. The company plans to expand across existing markets and build partnerships in food delivery, quick commerce and last-mile logistics.
Gupshup launches self-serve Voice AI platform for customer calls
Gupshup has launched a self-serve Voice AI Platform for building and deploying AI agents that handle customer calls, extending its conversational engagement offering beyond WhatsApp, RCS and SMS.
The no-code platform lets businesses configure voice agents, knowledge bases and workflows, set guardrails, run simulations and monitor performance through transcripts, analytics and testing tools. Agents can handle use cases including sales, lead qualification, customer support, appointment scheduling, KYC verification and payment reminders.
The platform supports PSTN and WhatsApp voice, on-premise and cloud deployment, and multiple speech-to-text, text-to-speech and LLM providers. Gupshup says pricing starts at $0.035 per minute, with new users receiving 100 free minutes.
