Wipro CTO Subha Tatvarti resigns

Subha Tatvarti, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Wipro, has resigned, making this the third high-profile exit from the company in the recent past.

In a communication to the exchanges, Wipro said the CTO resigned from the services of the company to pursue opportunities outside. She will be stepping down from the role by August 16, 2024. Subha Tatvarti joined Wipro in March 2021 and was operating out of the San Francisco Bay area.

Wipro has witnessed a slew of top-level exits ever since the resignation of CEO Thierry Delaporte in April this year. These include COO Amit Choudhary and APMEA head Anis Chenchah. All these three executives were previously with French IT major Capgemini.

Kyndryl launches security operations centre in Bengaluru

Kyndryl, the global IT infrastructure services provider, has launched a Security Operations Center (SOC) in Bengaluru that offers comprehensive support and advanced protection capabilities for the entire cyber threat lifecycle, using artificial intelligence, machine learning and integrated automation systems.

The SOC in Bengaluru is designed to be a cyber defence hub that operates around the clock to offer cyber threat intelligence and incident response, collaborating with Kyndryl’s global network of cybersecurity experts.

Kyndryl provides a hybrid model that allows organisations to selectively outsource certain cybersecurity functions, or fully outsource the end-to-end management of their cybersecurity operations to Kyndryl. It will also be a centre of excellence for cybersecurity management with specialised skills, certifications and experience in cybersecurity platform management, and technologies to support security events, operational management and monitoring.

Quantum AI Global, Q-CTRL form India partnership

Quantum AI Global (QAIG) and Q-CTRL, a quantum infrastructure software company, have partnered to work on various technology initiatives in India.

Earlier this month, Q-CTRL announced a quantum workforce development initiative in India and partnered with the Tamil Nadu government to make quantum computing education mandatory in technical universities. This was achieved by integrating Q-CTRL’s Black Opal software into the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation’s (TNSDC) Naan Mudhalvan Upskilling Platform.

In the first stage of its new partnership with Q-CTRL, QAIG will utilise its knowledge in quantum technology and education to act as the support and expansion partner for Q-CTRL’s Black Opal platform at TNSDC and across India.

This strategic collaboration aims to provide high-quality, hands-on quantum computing education to engineering students and recognises Tamil Nadu as a leader in the burgeoning quantum technology industry.

Veenam India launches upskilling initiative

Veeam India, in collaboration with Microsoft and Women In Cloud, has announced the #WICxSkillsReady Challenge at the VeeamON India Tour. This programme aims to upskill professionals in AI and cybersecurity, preparing them for DevSecOps roles.

The challenge is designed to help individuals validate their skills through Microsoft Applied Skills, a verifiable credential that builds trust with hiring managers in an AI-centric economy. These credentials can be earned through interactive, lab-based assessments on Microsoft Learn, offering flexibility for self-paced learning and accommodating various schedules.

Veeam India, Microsoft, and Women In Cloud aim to equip over 1,000 individuals with industry-recognised credentials, enabling them to excel in AI and cybersecurity roles.
