Aloma Lobo shows us how a mother’s love is unconditional

Sunday May 12, 2019 , 2 min Read

There is nothing as powerful as a mother's love. During a chance visit to an adoption centre 18 years ago, when Dr Aloma Lobo and her husband David came to know of a tiny infant abandoned because of a genetic disorder, they decided to take Nisha home. They didn’t think twice about the challenges they would have to face in raising her as their child.

The connection between the two was instant. The couple had four grown-up children and many questioned why they needed another child or were they not too old to raise one? All these questions combined with Nisha's health issues over the years, only brought the family closer together.

Aloma’s love for Nisha only grew stronger over the years. Also known as the Vicks Mummy, Aloma is a general physician and resides in Bengaluru.

On Mother’s Day, HerStory brings you Aloma's and Nisha's stories - of love, and compassion that both mother and daughter share.

Aloma’s journey exemplifies unconditional love only a mother can give. It reminds us of the thousands of children in this world who need a home and loving parents. A strong advocate of adoption, Aloma believes love and acceptance is all we need.

In a candid conversation the mother and daughter talk about their bond and their journey, and show us love transcends all barriers.

Yes, love is all we need.
