The process of taking things from one place to another is really very tough. When a person is supposed to relocate his things safely and securely to the next destination then he is automatically surrounded by so many responsibilities. Responsibility of old parents is considered to be the biggest accountability for a person when he is supposed to take his goods to the new destination. Apart from the things that he is carrying he needs to take care of his old parents too. At old age people are more emotional and are not adaptable to changes.
A change of location can give them physical and mental stage. They have so many memories attached with the old location which makes it really a tough business for them to shift from one location to another. You need to stand by their side both physically and mentally. There are few things that you can do in order to let them resist the pain of shifting.
Gather Things at A Place: The first and foremost thing that you are supposed to do for them is gathering their things at a place. This will be a great help for you and them as well. Doing so, you will have a clear idea of the things that needs to be carried in the new place.
Pack Their Belongings First: In order to give them priority you should pack their belongings first. This will make them privileged and any item if left could also be packed by the end of the move.
Pack in Their Presence: To give them a comfortable feeling of shifting their goods, you should pack it in their presence. Doing this will have their involvement and will also lower their stress. If you have hired packers and movers for shifting your load make sure they pack in their presence.
Give Mental Support at New Place: As they have landed to the new place, the thing that they need the most is mental support from you. Be there with them both physically and mentally.
Assist in Finding New Group: In order to make them comfortable in the new location they need a group. You are supposed to assist them in finding new group. Lion club, rotary club, yoga club are few of the clubs where you can get them registered for finding a new group.
