If you are a proud owner of an iPhone 6 or iPhone 7, but are not satisfied with the services or the rental of the iPhone locked network, it is time to do something about it. You will have to go in for unlocking factory SIM carrier lock on iPhone 6 and iPhone 7.
The two iPhones – iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 – are usually locked to one of these networks: O2, Vodafone or EE. The problem is that you don’t have any control over these carriers, who are at liberty to provide you shoddy service and charge at their whims and fancies. This can become quite frustrating.
The best option is to unlock factory SIM carrier lock. This will enable you to subscribe to your favorite or any network and use its SIM card.
According to Apple, one or two-year-old iPhones would be unlocked already, but if yours is not you have the provision to unlock it and use a different carrier.
Contact your carrier to unlock
You first step should be to contact your carrier to find out if it offers SIM unlock iPhone. Carriers have been given the option by Apple to unlock iPhones.
Once you receive the confirmation message from the carrier that it is willing to unlock your iPhone, you will need to meet some requirements with regard to your account for unlocking. However, it can take a few days for the carrier to unlock after you had requested for the same.
SIM card from carrier other than current carrier
You may have a SIM card that is different from your present carrier. On inserting it you may find that it is not working. You may find an error message instead.
In such a scenario, a couple of steps will help unlock your iPhone. Remove your SIM card and insert a new one. Next, set up your iPhone again.
Don’t have another SIM card to use
In such a scenario, you will have to take certain steps to finish unlocking your iPhone. As a first step, back up you iPhone. After taking the back up and checking it, erase your iPhone. Then simply restore the backup to your iPhone.
A message may flash in iTunes or on your device which states that the iPhone doesn't support the SIM card. . In such a case, take the following steps:
● Restore you iPhone to factory settings.
● Confirm from your carrier whether it has applied the unlock in their system.
● Restore your iPhone from a backup.
Unlocking iPhone is completely legal, once you completely own it. So, you really don’t have to be at the mercy of iPhone’s chosen carrier or network and choose your own.
