The education system in Australia has been the driving force that propels the country towards social and economic development. The policies adopted by the Australian government have paved the way for future innovators to spread their wings and explore endless possibilities and opportunities that come with education.

This is the reason the education system in Australia has seen many reformations in terms of providing quality education to students. Now let’s delve a little into what possible educational reforms could be introduced further into the system.

The Gonski 2.0 Initiative - A Brief Walkthrough

Speaking of educational reforms, it would be incomplete without mentioning the landmark initiative known as the Gonski 2.0. In June 2017, the Australian government passed a school funding legislative changes, which promised the students to offer quality education packages.

This policy has been named after David Gonski who was instrumental in presenting the Review of Funding for Schooling in 2011 that focused on providing recommendations on the school funding system in Australia.

While there are critics of the newly implemented policy, who have argued that it will not do any good in terms of providing quality education. The critics pointed out that the teachers are likely to be at a disadvantage because they will have to keep up with a shifted framework as part of the educational reform, which could take a considerable amount of time.

However, a vast majority of the people have welcomed this reformation as it puts the future of the children above politics. Schools can now be certain about receiving regular funding from the government. And with a more stringent and effective model of school funding approved, policymakers can focus on the more complex task of looking for ways to ensure that the Australian students keep performing better in their academic careers.

Now the onus will be on the states regarding how they implement these changes so that even the disadvantaged or deprived bulk of the students also get benefitted from these policies.

Determining What Reforms are Required within the Existing System

Taking a cue from the Gonski 2.0, further reformations can be integrated within the education sector in Australia, but to do that it’s imperative to recognize the changes that must be brought in. Firstly, any reform, big or small, demands the involvement of all the parties, leaving aside their differences to work towards the same goal.

This involvement should not only include the government but would also require the active participation of parents and guardians, teaching staff and officials. To keep up with the ever-evolving requirements of the workforce, it’s essential to adapt to newer and more efficient approaches.

#1. Consider Taking the Assistance of Experts in the Field of Academics

The teaching profession is generally associated with having a vast area of knowledge. But to integrate any reformation on a broader spectrum, it is crucial to not only involve the teachers but also seek the intervention from experts belonging to different industries and sectors to channel the process of reformation in the right direction.

The sole purpose of initiating this kind of reform is to let students acquire the appropriate skills from the community, or from other recognized repositories of knowledge. Hence, seeking assistance from different accomplished and established individuals could propel the change necessary within the education system of Australia.

#2. Enriching the Learning Process of the Students with a Standard Based Approach

The primary concern for any educational reform is to enhance the learning process of the students. This is why a standard oriented approach can be adopted, which puts the student above everything else.

According to the academic experts providing assignment help, it’s essential that teachers become familiar with the influence that they have on the student, and thereby taking a student-focused approach while carrying out the process of learning. The objective should be to help the students to acquire the right skills to become capable enough to bring about positive changes to the social and economic standards of the community.

So implementing this standard based approach presents a parameter for determining the effectiveness of any reform, which is again vital for defining what works in favour of the students and what doesn’t.

#3. Implementing Technology in a Much Evolved Way

Using technology to boost the learning process is the key to enjoy the maximum impact of any reform. This would require the policymakers to determine and evaluate new techniques and procedures and use the data derived from the evaluation to measure their overall impact.

The techniques that deliver the desired outcomes should be integrated throughout the school education system.

All these reforms when implemented successfully within the education system of Australia, will make way for more fulfilling outcomes for the students both on an individual level and in terms of collective performance as a nation.
