First things first. Dubai is one of the seven emirates of United Arab Emirates. The emirate is located south of the Arabian Gulf and it is the most populated emirate in the UAE but comes second in the area of land territories.

Be prepared for the weather

Most of your day will be spent on air conditioned rooms, restaurants, and shopping malls since the temperature can even reach 45°C. You will enjoy the beautiful sunshine once you get used to the weather. The best thing about the weather in Dubai is that you will never have to worry about your plans getting rained off in months between March and December. January is Dubai's coldest month but it feels more like a British summer with the temperature ranging between 19°C-21°C.

Finding a place to live

It is quite complicated to find a place to live in Dubai since only the legal residents can rent apartments. The process can be a true struggle if you are new to Dubai. Before you consult a broker, make sure that they are licensed by the Economic development department. The majority of the landlords in Dubai will ask for the rent together for six months at least. Negotiate with them for getting the best deal since it is not in the rules to pay rent together.

If you have plans to live there for a long period, discuss the hike up rents when you renew your contract.

Working in Dubai

You must have a sponsor in Dubai to get an employment visa. In most cases, the employer will be the sponsor. The best thing about working in Dubai is that you will learn a lot about the world culture since you can make friends with people from all around the world. Plus, you will have a tax free salary.

Things to be taken care of

Make sure you have all your necessary documents together. If you are new to UAE, you will have to get certificate attestation for all your educational documents and previous work experience certificates. It is to prove that all your documents are authentic.

Your passport size photographs must be in UAE size of 5x5 and must have a white background.

Keep copies of your passport and work permit information.

Find out where your country’s consulate or embassy is and register with them. The rules for this varies with the country you are from.
