23 lakh MSMEs to be digitised and connected by Telangana govt and GlobalLinker
The Telangana government has partnered with GlobalLinker, an MSME-enablement business, to launch a digital networking platform named, ‘Telangana State GlobalLinker’. A company release said that the new platform seeks to digitise and connect over 2.3 million MSMEs in Telangana to a global community of small and large businesses.
Telangana State GlobalLinker will allow MSMEs to create a digital profile for their business, connect with other global MSMEs, enable them to find buyers and suppliers, gain visibility, and receive up-to-date industry trends and news, a press release stated. Members will also enjoy exclusive offers on travel, legal services and loans, offered by both corporates and fellow SMEs.
“Digitisation is going to be one of game changers for MSME businesses as it helps them cater to customers beyond local boundaries, allows their profit to grow twice as fast, and substantially increases their contribution to GDP,” said Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana.
Last year, Summi Gambhir, Co-Founder and CXO, GlobalLinker, told SMBStory, “The SMEs [on GlobalLinker’s platforms] are free to explore business opportunities through making new connections, assisted by our algorithms. Further, SMEs get access to economies of scale, using a wide range of business tools and services pre-created specially for them,” Gambhir explains.
Sameer Vakil, Co-founder and CEO, GlobalLinker, said, “We are immensely proud to host the Telangana state government MSME network on the GlobalLinker platform. Digitisation can truly catalyse growth for MSMEs, as it not only blurs borders but also provides greater access to clients. We look forward to assisting over 2.3 million MSME members to transform their business on the strength of our platform.’’
MSMEs on the new platform will be able to create eBiz cards to share with other members and a digital catalogue of their products and services. An assisted e-commerce store creator will also help MSMEs expand their sales opportunities, manage inventory, payment gateways and logistics. The platform also provides several digital tools such as a business calendar and an eBriefcase for MSMEs to store and share documents.
GlobalLinker also has alliances with ICICI Bank, Jet Airways, Federation of Indian Exports Organisation (FIEO), Bombay Industries Association, and Monetary Authority of Singapore.
