Constable Poonam Billore from Madhya Pradesh has become a viral sensation for the right reasons. In a video posted by news agency ANI, he is seen carrying an injured man who fell of a moving train for a kilometre and a half.

There are often instances and incidents where an individual, or a group of people, go beyond their line of duty to make a difference to someone’s life. And some even save lives. One such good Samaritan is Constable Poonam Billore.

The policeman, carrying a critically injured man on his shoulder, trekked a distance of over 1.5 km to the nearest railway crossing, and his video, posted by news agency ANI, took the internet by storm.

Thirty-five-year-old Ajit, fell off a Mumbai-bound train at Ravan Peepal village near Pagdhal railway station at Hoshangabad, Madhya Pradesh, the Hindustan Times reported.

However, there was no motorable road for an ambulance, or even a police vehicle to reach him, reported the India Today.

“The spot was around 2 km away from the railway gate. The ambulance couldn't reach the spot. We went by foot and found him (Ajit) critically injured. I had to save his life, so I carried him to a railway crossing over 1.5 km away. He was then taken to the hospital,” Poonam told ANI in an interview.

Ajit, a resident of Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, was later taken to a health centre from Seoni’s Malwa area to Hoshanagabad district hospital.
