Warren Buffett

Warren Edward Buffett, often referred to as the "Oracle of Omaha," is an American tycoon and benefact, considered to be one of the most successful investors of all time. Born on August 30, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska, Buffett's journey from a young paperboy to being the CEO and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway is a remarkable tale of financial acumen and timeless wisdom.

Buffett's passion for investing was ignited at a young age. He began reading books on investing and financial analysis during his teenage years. Despite being rejected by Harvard Business School, Buffett attended Columbia Business School, where he learned from his mentor, Benjamin Graham, the father of value investing.

His famous mantra is to "be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful." This approach has led him to invest in companies with a durable competitive advantage and a track record of consistent earnings growth. He also believed in the power of compound interest and holding onto investments.

Buffett's investment vehicle, Berkshire Hathaway, started as a textile manufacturing company and later transformed into a behemoth owning a range of businesses.

Buffett is also known for his philanthropic efforts. In 2006, he announced his intention to gradually donate the majority of his wealth to charitable causes, primarily through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He also launched the Giving Pledge, a commitment by some of the world's wealthiest individuals and families to give away the majority of their wealth to address society's most pressing issues.
