PureHealth has signed an agreement to acquire UK-based independent operators of hospitals, Circle Health Group, in a deal valued at $1.2 billion.

The acquisition, which has enabled PureHealth to enter the UK, is part of the UAE-based healthcare network's global expansion. The plan includes acquisitions in the US and entry into other international markets, according to a statement shared on Emirates News Agency.

The takeover aims to benefit patients in the UAE and the UK through increased healthcare options, a broader medical professional network, and knowledge sharing.

PureHealth will acquire 100% of Circle Health Group's portfolio, including orthopaedics, oncology, cardiothoracic surgery, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, and general surgery. The acquisition includes Circle Health Group's hospitals, including the UK's first rehabilitation hospital.

"This acquisition is a major milestone for our associate company, PureHealth Holding LLC, and we are confident that it will position us for continued growth and success," said Hammad Al Ameri, CEO and Managing Director of Alpha Dhabi Holding PJSC, which is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.

With this acquisition, Circle Health Group joins a list of healthcare providers that includes SEHA—Abu Dhabi Health Services Company; Daman—Nation Health Insurance Co; GCC laboratory network PureLab; healthcare procurement organisation Rafed; and the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre.

"This acquisition marks an important milestone in our journey towards creating a global healthcare network which revolutionises patient care. Our mission at PureHealth is to drive scientific innovation to unlock longevity and greater quality of life for humankind. Through integrating the expertise of both organisations, we positively impact the lives of patients globally," he added.

A signing ceremony in London to formalise PureHealth's acquisition of Circle Health Group was attended by Farhan Malik, Managing Director and Group CEO of PureHealth; Brent Layton, Senior Advisor to Centene Corporation; and Beau Garverick, Senior Vice President of Corporate Development.

Circle Health Group, the first European healthcare provider to enter the Chinese market, offers innovative neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation services and pathway management. With over 8,200 employees and 6,500 consultants, the company operates in over 60 specialities, 50 hospitals, and 150 theatres.

With over two million visits per year, Circle Health Group drives over $13 billion in revenue and provides exceptional healthcare and comprehensive health solutions.
