Young Turks Startup Story

Aashish Chanana heads one of India¡äs largest and most successful entertainment companies ¨C Media Factory, founded in 2003 is a fully integrated feature film and animation studios company.Labeled a child prodigy at an early age, the young Aashish had won the ¡°President¡äs Gold Medal¡± for designing India¡äs first ¡®Electric Car¡ä while still in (grade) school. That brilliance and innovation in engineering had earned him a scholarship to Columbia University where he graduated with honors.

After earning his degree in Automobile Engineering, Aashish returned to India. His good looks paired with an intensely creative mind had earned him fame as lead actor in Bollywood films such as (Aag aur Shola, Deewane, Mehndi ban gayi khoon and others). He had also produced and directed films for India¡äs small and big screens such as (Tasveer, Majnoon & recently Dreams). In the process, Aashish had also earned a reputation throughout India as a master animator. Recently did the VFX for India¡äs biggest Bollywood blockbuster, ¡°Lage Raho Munnabhai¡±, ¡°Highlander¡± and ¡°Alien¡± for Hollywood, to be released this year and ¡°Pinochio¡± a UK feature film along with numerous music videos and Ad Commercials.

In an industry where animators and special effects professionals are all too often isolated in a microcosm of computers programs and data sheets, Aashish is a rare phenomenon in that he not only worked but excelled in every conceivable facet of the entertainment industry from the technical to acting, directing and producing. From that certain facial expression on an animated character lasting no more than a second to feature length cinematography to time constraints and technical considerations, Aashish commands a unique understanding of the synergy between various elements of production that is absolutely crucial for a production¡äs success.

Aashish was invited to represent India in VFX and animation at a special event known as the Oscar Sunday at the 2008 Oscars.

Aashish Chanana is truly a rare combination of talent- An actor, producer, director & also an animator Aashish lives by the motto- ¡°Nothing is impossible because even the word impossible says, I¡ä M POSSIBLE.¡±
