Clifford Chance Foundation

The Clifford Chance Foundation provides a way for the Firm to engage with local communities around three principal themes: Access to Education, Access to Finance and Access to Justice. In its first year of operation the Foundation made donations to more than 70 different charities in 36 different countries.

As a leading international law firm we know that many individuals and communities are struggling to achieve equal treatment before the law. Which is why we are launching the Clifford Chance Access to Justice Award. It's designed to recognise and support not-for-profit organisations in their quest to help people secure their rights to the basic necessities of life, including shelter, liberty and economic self sufficiency.

The Award

A single donation of £50,000 unrestricted funding will be made from the Clifford Chance Foundation to the winning organisation.

In addition to the donation Clifford Chance will provide a commitment of up to 500 pro bono or volunteering hours from its lawyers and business service teams, over an 18 month period after the date of the award, to support the work of the winning organisation.

Nominations

Nominations are welcomed online via the Clifford Chance website. The closing date for nominations is 1 June 2010. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges drawn from the Firm, the NGO sector and clients.

The award is open to not-for-profit organisations anywhere in the world, reflecting our long-term

commitment to building a community where access to justice is available to all.
