Users from over 63 countries are using this service
Money is what makes the world go round, and if there is anything that can help keep a track of all the money spent, we would be glad to use it. Track Every Coin (TEC) aims at doing this. Most of us need this kind of a facility and especially the tech-savvy youth of today would lap upon this idea. TEC provides a desktop app along with a mobile app. It enables user to input all his expenses and income categorically. It also gives analysis of the user’s spending pattern. Jubin Mehta from YourStory.in caught up with entrepreneur, Vikram Chadaga, to know more about TEC. Edited excerpts from the interview:
When was Track Every Coin launched? Give us an idea about your user base.
TEC was launched on the 12th of July, 2010. We have users from over 63 countries using our service.
What technologies were used to build Track Every Coin?
We have used quite a few technologies. The web is developed on Django/Python on the backend and we used HTML/CSS/JS on the frontend. Our mobile app is on Symbian. The desktop application is on Adobe AIR – which works on Windows, Mac and Linux. For the mobile website, we have used a mobile framework which is optimized for all smart phones including Android, iPhone, Blackberry and Windows.
How do you spread the word about Track Every Coin?
Our customer base is slowly, but steadily increasing. Track Every Coin has increased its customer base only via word of mouth. We have not spent any amount on marketing.
Tell us about any strategic alliances you have.
For our desktop application we have tied up with Intel and launched the same on the Intel-App-up store. Part of this project was funded by Intel.
What are your plans for future?
We plan to come up with a feature for travelers to track bills easily. Our latest feature allows you to attach a copy of your receipts with your expenses. For example, let us say you buy a new mobile phone and it has 3 years of warranty. It is very hard for us to keep the receipt safe for 3 years. Using Track Every Coin, users can click an image/scan the receipt and store it. The same can be done with pay slips as well.
