Joe co-founded Airbnb in 2008, an online community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world. Almost everyone in the startup world talks about the famous Obama O’s story when it comes to lessons in persistence!
Today Airbnb is one of the fastest growing startups in the world, with over 10 million nights booked via their site, and with over 200K active listings. They are known for their emphasis on user delight and experience, and are backed by veteran investors like Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Sequoia Capital and Paul Graham of YCombinator.
Joe is in Bangalore today to spend time largely with the Airbnb community, but is taking time out of his busy schedule on our request to interact with the Bangalore startup community. Joe is going to talk about the Airbnb story, his learnings so far on making delightful products for users, and his emphasis on design simplification. Following which Joe will answer questions from Bangalore tech entrepreneurs.
