[Infographic] LinkedIn crosses the 20 million user mark in India; Some interesting trends

LinkedIn announced today that it now has a 20 million user base from India, making it the second largest userbase outside of the US for the social network for professionals. It has taken them all of 3 years to achieve this milestone and this is the first public achievement of newly appointed India head for LinkedIn, Nishant Rao. In the last year alone, LinkedIn has added 5 million users in India.

The announcement was accompanied by an infographic, which, along with some data on the time line of this achievement, contains some interesting trends that the company has seen from it's users in India. Here are some -

- IT services, computer software and accounting are ranked as the top three Industries

- Management, sales and training are the top three skills possessed by Indian users

- Top InDemand employers are mostly IT services companies like Accenture, IBM, TCS, Infosys etc. Two banks feature in this list - HDFC and ICICI.

- Top three schools in India (According to LinkedIn) are University of Mumbai, Delhi University and Anna University.
