Evaki, an electronics hardware company launches a ‘Solar Power Pad’
Jignesh Nishar is a resident of Mumbai, and has been in the electronic distribution and retail business for the past 10 years. Over these years, he developed a good understanding of consumer demand and requirements for electronic gadgets. Sensitive towards the environment and a propagator of responsible living, Jignesh had started up Evaki (which means ‘Sun’) in August 2012 to develop devices which are eco-friendly.
Interest in solar technology and passion towards advancement of mobile technology led Jignesh and team to the ideation and production of their first product- The Solar Power Pad. This Power Pad which uses solar energy can be used to power mobiles, smartphones, tablets, digital cameras, etc.
Investment for development and production of goods has been funded by Jignesh himself and the product has been made available online on the Evaki site. “It has been made keeping end consumers requirement in mind and comes with 3 years warranty which makes it value for money product,” says Jignesh.
The Solar Power Pad is priced at INR 4995 and comes with 10.8” Solar Panel which makes it effective to charge its internal battery of 3000mAh in about 3.5hrs under direct sunlight. “This enables the product to be used 2-3 times a day and can charge multiple devices in a day. It can be used almost everywhere and mainly anytime whether it be home, office, car or on the go,” says Jignesh. Evaki wants the product to be used a primary source and not as a backup device.
The Solar Power Pad has been launched recently and is being mainly sold via their online store but more distribution channels will be opened up soon. Talking about the future plans, Jignesh says, “The vision is to design and develop electronic devices that are energy efficient which in turn can lead to a sustainable planet.”
