“India generates the second largest number of education related queries on Google. Moreover, the fact that over half a million Indian students are participating in online courses (MOOCs) offered by the likes of Coursera, proves that Indians love to learn online. Our mission is to empower educators with modern web technologies that increase engagement and reach. We are proud to partner with Plancess. Using PlancessWorld
If you've used LurnQ before this, then plancessworld is not going to be any different. It lacks the social login feature that LurnQ has and you have to key in your details into a form. Once you're done, you're presented with a list of topics to choose from, very similar to what you get in LurnQ as well. Only, these topics are curated to be relevant to someone preparing for IIT JEE.
Once you're done choosing, you're presented with a feed of opinions which you either upvote or downvote or comment in as well. The voting system applies within the post as well. Other than this, you can write an opinion piece of your own and if you're an expert in the subject, you can create a course as well.
A readymade solution for a readymade community
In the previous interaction with Plancess, they shared that they have over a thousand users for their online content. The addition of the LurnQ platform (LurnQ shared that their white label solution was always in the works) to their portfolio, brings a great level of interactivity to their already existing users. The subjects and postings on the forum can link to Plancess's video content and the courses link to the Plancess courses.
PlancessWorld comes at a subscription cost, which provides access to over a hundred courses with new ones being added. Students pay a flat fee of Rs 999/- per month to access all the courses available. A press release from the company stated, “The rationale here is simple, we don’t want students to worry about paying for every course they access. As an introductory offer; PlancessWorld is offering free trial till 31st August 2013.”
While this feature will delight it's existing users, will this increase Plancess's userbase? We'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, give Plancessworld a shot and tell us what you think.
