Meet the 8-year-old boy sufferring from thalassemia who became police commissioner for a day
Madipalli Roop Aurouna is an eight-year-old boy from Hyderabad, who is suffering from Thalassemia, a condition where his body does not produce blood. He needs to undergo blood transfusion every 20-25 days. Roop also has to undergo rigorous medical care to ensure that his iron level doesn’t become high as it may affect his vital organs. Despite his troubles, Roop took charge as the Police Commissioner of Hyderabad for one day.
According to ANI, Roop’s wish was fulfilled by Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organisation that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Roop said he wants to control law and order to check crimes like chain snatching.
Wearing his police uniform, the eight-year-old was welcomed with a salute from other police officials at the commissionerate. Roop’s parents, Ranjitha and Vikram, were extremely proud of the moment.
